Does A Dip Manicure Cost More than Acrylic or Gel ?

Does A Dip Manicure Cost More?

Dip nails may have taken nail art trends by storm, but are they more expensive than other popular nail applications?

Depending on what designs you’re asking for, dip powder nails could be more expensive or cheaper.

Let’s have a look at the difference between acrylic nails and gel nails.

Than Acrylic Nails

Acrylic nails can cost anywhere from $30 to $150. This will vary depending on the reputation of your chosen salon, your location, and even what you actually ask for.

Acrylic nails are more popular, so it’s going to be easier to find a salon that can make this particular nail application, but they don’t last as long as a well-done set of dip powder nails – generally, around 4-6 weeks is a good stretch for acrylic nails.

Much like all other forms of false nails, the level of detail and nail art you want, the more of a premium price you will have to pay.

Than Gel Nails

Gel nail manicures only tend to last around 3-4 weeks but still command an average price of around $40 – $100. So, even though they are a similar price to a dip powder manicure, you’re getting a lot less staying power for your money.

Gel nails also use UV lamps to cure the chemical bonding ingredients, and some people don’t like the idea of baking their hands under a UV lamp regularly.

Just like acrylic nails and dip powder methods, the more detail and embellishments you want, the higher the price is going to be.

How Long Does A Dip Manicure Last?

A dip manicure can last anywhere from 5 weeks to two or three months.

Good nail care and clean application will help your nails last longer and get your money’s worth.

Here are some things that can affect the length of your dip powder manicure’s life span.

Water Contact

If you often have your hands in water, this can drastically reduce how long your dip powder manicure will last. So, avoid water contact as much as possible. However, if you can’t, wear rubber gloves whenever you can to protect your dip powder manicure.

Good Application

How your dip nails are applied heavily influences how long they can last.

If you are doing them yourself at home, make sure to follow every step to the letter to give your nails a chance to last as long as possible.

If you are getting them done in a salon, make sure you choose one that has a good reputation and uses quality products.

Ask around; people are quick to tell you if a salon did their nails and they fell off in a matter of a week or two.
